Portland, Ore. Oct. 9, 2018 – EDGE Security Conference organizer and award-winning information security and compliance consulting firm Sword & Shield Enterprise Security announced today the agenda, speakers, and topics for Portland’s upcoming EDGE 2018 Cyber Summit.
Established in 2016 in Knoxville, Tennessee, the EDGE Cybersecurity Conference has grown to be a success; drawing more than 450 attendees from 21 states and featuring more than 30 speakers from both the private and public sectors.
This year, Sword & Shield is taking EDGE on the road.
As a nationally-recognized cybersecurity and compliance consulting company, Sword & Shield will leverage its West Coast presence with a summit in the Greater Portland, Oregon, area on November 13th from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This one-day event focusing on Risk & Privacy Management will feature expert speakers, interactive tabletop exercises and panel discussions, and peer networking.
“For 2018, we’ve decided to have multiple smaller events across the country, beginning with Portland and Nashville,” said Sword & Shield President and CEO John McNeely. “We are concentrating on gaining more national awareness for EDGE to empower us to present the level of conference we feel security conscious organizations deserve.”
McNeely said it’s imperative to continue to have a venue for cybersecurity conversations and education in order to fight the growing threat of cybercrime.
“EDGE has been extremely positive and a big step toward our goal of presenting a world-class, can’t-miss security conference,” said McNeely. “We have to have that to fight cybercrime.”
